Intention Testimonial by A.H.

(A few months ago, we featured the article,"An Experiment in Intention," in Core Wisdom On-Line. It was a review of "The Four Worlds of Creation," the powerful Core Wisdom method for manifesting your intentions into reality. I invited readers to experiment with it, and let me know what happened. The following email came this week from Allen H., and is a beautiful example of what can happen when two people focus their passionate commitment together on an aligned intention.)

I've been traveling to Ashland, Oregon for a number of years for theatre. When I got my wife, Katherine, into the process, she really enjoyed the experience and the people. We had put a contingent offer on a property in Ashland last March and have made three subsequent trips since. We had just been held back on selling our current house in Palm Springs.

We had our Palm Springs house on the market for the past 90 days. There had been only two verbal low-ball offers $100,000 under asking. We had begun chanting to ourselves "there are no buyers out there." And guess what? There were no buyers.

Last week, I asked Katherine if she would be willing to try your 'intention experiment' with me each morning for the next few days. She agreed. We set our intention on the place we wanted to move, Ashland. We both visualized ourselves living there and imagined our day-to-day life in that context. We did this for four mornings, about 10-15 minutes per sitting, a total of about 1 hour.

On the fifth day we got an acceptable offer on our Palm Springs home. Not only that, a closing scenario of 21 days, and just prior to leaving for three weeks in China! (We had given up on that happening once we had passed the normal 30-day escrow time period, and were prepared to wait and market our home next season).

Just as a post-script: yesterday, the buyers requested an even shorter closing, which was also to our advantage timing-wise.

This is a powerful process which we wanted to acknowledge. Thank you, Hal.

A Core Wisdom Quote

(When we let go of our inherited and learned opinions, expectations, and interpretations of good and bad, should and shouldn't, and release our beliefs about how things and situations "ought to be," we see the world clearly as it is. Then only are we able to embrace what is and its ever-changing flow moment to moment. As this simple story illustrates, in that embrace is freedom.)

There is a Taoist story of an old farmer who had worked his crops for many years. One day his horse ran away. Upon hearing the news, his neighbors came to visit.

"Such bad luck," they said sympathetically.

"Maybe," the farmer replied.

The next morning the horse returned, bringing with it three other wild horses. "How wonderful," the neighbors exclaimed.

"Maybe," replied the old man.

The following day, his son tried to ride one of the untamed horses, was thrown, and broke his leg. The neighbors again came to offer their sympathy on his misfortune.

"Maybe," answered the farmer.

The day after, military officials came to the village to draft young men into the army. Seeing that the son's leg was broken, they passed him by. The neighbors congratulated the farmer on how well things had turned out.

"Maybe," said the farmer.
